Werwulf – Focus Features

Where? Dartmoor in Devon, Bourne Woods in Surrey & Sky Studios Elstree in Hertfordshire

In spooky news, gothic horror Werwulf has entered production in England. From director Robert Eggers (The Witch, The Lighthouse, Nosferatu), the film started filming in Dartmoor and Sky Studios Elstree in Hertfordshire this October. Set in 13th century England, Werwulf stars Lily Rose Depp and Aaron Taylor-Johnson.

Rivals Season 2 – Disney+

Where? Chavenage House in the Cotswolds, Somerset, The Bottle Yard Studios and Bristol

After the strong reception of Season 1, the Rivals team have returned to the South West to shoot the second season, which is expected to release on Disney+ in early 2026. Production is supported by Bristol Film Office.

The Forstyes Season 2 – ITV  

Where? The Bottle Yard Studios and Bristol locations  

The TV adaptation of John Galsworthy’s The Forsyte Saga will return for a second season, with filming underway in Bristol since early July.

Narnia: The Magician’s Nephew – Netflix

Where? Shepperton Studios, Surrey

Adapted from C.S. Lewis’s sixth Narnia novel, this new feature is directed by Greta Gerwig and produced by Amy Pascal. Filming began in August and is ongoing, with Emma Mackey, Daniel Craig, and Carey Mulligan leading the cast.

The Agency (Series Two) – Paramount+

Where? Shadowbox Shinfield Studios, Reading

The high‑stakes French spy thriller, The Agency, will be returning for a second season. Filming has been underway since April, promising another tense and stylish chapter led by Michael Fassbender, Jeffrey Wright, and Jodie Turner‑Smith.

Spider Man: Brand New Day – Marvel  

Where? Pinewood Studios, Buckinghamshire   

Production on the newest Spider-Man movie kicked off at Pinewood Studios in August. This time, the plot revolves around a world where Tom Holland’s Peter Parker never married Mary Jane never, seeing him rebuild his life amid emerging enemies and returning adversaries.

California Avenue – BBC

Where? Hertfordshire

Bill Nighy, Helena Bonham Carter, and Erin Doherty star in a new original drama which follows a woman and her 11‑year‑old child seeking refuge at an isolated caravan park. Filming began in August and is ongoing in Hertfordshire.

Beekeeper 2 – Amazon MGM Studios

Where? Queenborough Harbour, Kent

Jason Statham is back filming a sequel for the action-packed Beekeeper, also starring Jeremy Irons, Yara Shahidi, Emmy Raver-Lampman, Bobby Naderi, Jemma Redgrave and Pom Klementieff.

The Hairdresser Mysteries – BBC/Mill Bay Media

Where? Worcester and wider West Midlands

A brand new drama from the BBC, The Hairdresser Mysteries is set in the 1970s, seeing a high-end hairdresser (played by Sally Phillips) move to a hairdressers in a small village, where she finds herself in the middle of a mystery.

Waterloo Road Season 18 – Wall to Wall Media/BBC

Where? Greater Manchester

Following its recent revival, the BBC have commissioned even more of the school-based drama Waterloo Road! The 18th season has been filming in Manchester this year.

The Split Up – BBC One

Where? Manchester

Set in the world of Manchester’s high‑net‑worth divorce circuit, this new drama comes from series creator Ursula Rani Sarma and is produced by Sister. Filming began in October and is ongoing, with Ritu Arya and Sanjeev Bhaskar starring.

The City is Ours Season 2 – Left Bank Pictures/BBC

Where? Liverpool

The team behind BBC’s The City is Ours began filming for a much-anticipated second season in October this year. Starring James Nelson-Royce, Hannah Onslow and Julie Graham, this gritty crime drama became an instant hit when it was released earlier in 2025.
