F1 The Movie, one of 2025’s most anticipated releases, has hit cinemas.
With Brad Pitt leading the cast as Sonny Hayes – an F1 driver returning to racing after a career-changing accident – the film stars Damson Idris, Javier Bardem and Kerry Condon, alongside cameos from Lewis Hamilton, Max Verstappen and more real-life drivers.
Audience hype for the film started back in 2023 when Brad Pitt appeared at the British Grand Prix driving a Formula 2 car on Silverstone Circuit itself – and alongside Silverstone, the production filmed in multiple locations across England.
From quaint pubs to iconic landmarks, scroll down to discover the full list of F1 The Movie locations in England…

Silverstone Circuit, Northamptonshire
Silverstone straddles both Northamptonshire and Buckinghamshire, and has been the home of British Motor Racing since 1948. The legendary Grand Prix circuit, with over 500 acres of land and top class facilities is fully available for filming and was used by the production team extensively, with the iconic Silverstone racetrack central to several pivotal scenes.
Silverstone is a member of the Filming in England Partnership, and we caught up with Hayley Smith, Head of Business Development, about Silverstone’s experience hosting this epic production:
“We are no strangers at welcoming big names and world class brands to Silverstone but the filming of F1 was particularly special. The crew were with us over an extended period of time and we worked closely with them to ensure minimal disruption to our regular clients while delivering what they needed to produce the blockbuster hit that I am sure this film will become.”
We also spoke with Counsellor James Petter, West Northamptonshire Council Cabinet Member for Local Economy, Culture and Leisure, who revealed:
“It was so exciting to see this latest production in the making! Silverstone and the wider West Northants area continue to prove to be the perfect backdrop for world-class film productions. We are proud to support Silverstone, a true powerhouse of innovation and motorsport heritage. Our commitment is reflected in our part-funding of the Silverstone 2035 Vision, a transformative roadmap that will elevate Silverstone into a globally recognised premier destination for leisure tourism.

The Globe Inn, Buckinghamshire
Alongside the renowned Silverstone Circuit, F1 The Movie shot in some of England’s hidden filming gems too. The Globe Inn is a quaint, quintessentially English pub located in Leighton Buzzard, Buckinghamshire, which welcomed Brad Pitt and the team in July of 2023.
The team at Buckinghamshire Film Office were delighted to welcome the production to their county, and we spoke to Ruth Bryant, Film Officer at Buckinghamshire Film Office, about it:
“With Silverstone in the north of the county, Buckinghamshire is no stranger to hosting F1… It was a privilege to welcome this high-octane production- from quiet pub conversations at The Globe in Leighton Buzzard to the roaring engines on the circuit. It’s not every day Hollywood meets our heritage, but when it does, Buckinghamshire delivers pole-position performance- on and off the track.”

Brands Hatch Circuit in Sevenoaks, Kent
Sevenoaks is a town located in South East Kent, just 34 miles from London, and has attracted film and TV productions such as Whitstable Pearl, Mr Bates vs. The Post Office and Red, White and Royal Blue.
Filming took place in Brands Hatch in Sevenoaks, supported by Kent Film Office. Plus, the production contributed an estimated £702,000 to the Kent economy over 2 weeks! We spoke to Kent Film Office about the shoot:
“Kent Film Office were delighted to support the filming of F1: The Movie (2025) at Brands Hatch in Sevenoaks and were very pleased to facilitate placing a local runner on the shoot. KFO values new and local talent and is thrilled to play a role in facilitating some of their first positions in the industry!”

White Horse Hill, Oxfordshire
An ancient rolling downland, White Horse Hill is known for an iconic chalk hill figure (the clue is in the name!), estimated to have been created during the Bronze Age or Early Iron Age.
White Horse Hill is owned and looked after by National Trust, who are members of the Filming in England Partnership. We spoke to Harvey Edgington, Senior Filming and Locations Manager, about the production:
“When Lucy, the Location Manager, asked us about a sunset plate shot not far from Silverstone even I, who doesn’t know one end of car from another guessed what the shoot might be. The ancient White Horse at Uffington was ideal. All they had to do was wait for the best weather forecast, which being a small, flexible, light weight crew was no problem and meant we could be patient too”
Across the English regions, Creative England’s Filming in England team are on hand to facilitate high-end TV and feature film productions, working with local and regional partners.
