The Beatles – A Four-Film Cinematic Event – Neal Street Productions/Sony Pictures Entertainment

Where? Liverpool

Directed by Sam Mendes and featuring Paul Mescal as Paul McCartney, Harris Dickinson as John Lennon, Barry Keoghan as Ringo Starr, and Joseph Quinn as George Harrison, this four‑film project has quickly become a major cultural talking point.

Waterloo Road Season 19 – Wall to Wall Media/BBC

Where? Greater Manchester

After its successful comeback, the BBC has ordered additional episodes of the school drama Waterloo Road, with the eighteenth series currently being shot in Manchester.

The Split Up – BBC One

Where? Manchester

Set in the world of Manchester’s high‑net‑worth divorce circuit, this new drama comes from series creator Ursula Rani Sarma and is produced by Sister. Filming wrapped in January this year in Manchester.

The City is Ours Season 2 – Left Bank Pictures/BBC

Where? Liverpool

Set and filmed in Liverpool, The City is Ours will be returning for its second series. With James Nelson‑Royce, Hannah Onslow and Julie Graham leading the cast, this hard‑edged crime drama became a breakout success when it debuted earlier in 2025.

Werwulf – Focus Features

Where? Dartmoor in Devon, Bourne Woods in Surrey & Sky Studios Elstree in Hertfordshire

Gothic horror Werwulf wrapped filming in January this year. From filmmaker Robert Eggers (The Witch, The Lighthouse, Nosferatu), the project began shooting in October on Dartmoor and at Sky Studios Elstree in Hertfordshire. Set in 13th‑century England, Werwulf features Lily‑Rose Depp and Aaron Taylor‑Johnson in the leading roles.

Rivals Season 2 – Disney+

Where? Chavenage House in the Cotswolds, Somerset, The Bottle Yard Studios and Bristol

After the strong reception of Season 1, the Rivals team have returned to the South West to shoot the second season, which is expected to release on Disney+ in early 2026. Click here to check out the filming spots from Season 1.

Harry Potter Series – Warner Bros.

Where? Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden, Hertfordshire

In case you hadn’t heard, the new Harry Potter series has been filming in Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden – where all eight editions of the film franchise were filmed!

Ebenezer: A Christmas Carol

Where? The Historic Dockyard, Chatham, Kent and further English locations

Johnny Depp returns to filming in Ti West’s adaptation on A Christmas Carol, which has been filming in the UK this year. The production have been filming at The Historic Dockyard Chatham in Kent, an 80 acre site which has hosted Mission: Impossible, Enola Holmes 2 and Bridgerton in recent years.

Narnia: The Magician’s Nephew – Netflix

Where? Shepperton Studios, Surrey

Greta Gerwig’s The Magician’s Nephew wrapped production in London on 31 January 2026, following a six‑month shoot across studios and locations around the UK. The Netflix adaptation – with Emma Mackey and Daniel Craig leading the cast – will have an IMAX debut on 26 November 2026, ahead of a Christmas Day release.

Sherwood Season 3 – BBC

Where? Nottinghamshire

Filming is now underway on the third series of James Graham’s BBC drama Sherwood, produced by BBC Studios’ House Productions.

Forever Home– FilmNation Entertainment/The Mediapro Studio

Where? North East

Funded by the North East Production Fund, an adaptation of Graham Norton’s Forever Home novel has filmed at the start of this year in the North East. The six-part series follows the story of a second wife dealing with the memories of the woman who went before her. Read more here.
